The lovely Kate (who can be found dispatching Lucy says I do parcels when she’s not working her incredible singing voice) got married last year and their day was an epic wedding fiesta filled with incredible music, colour and love, and who better to tell us a little about the day than Kate herself…
“Dave and I got married in the picturesque Henley-on-Thames town hall followed by a reception in a village hall in Harpsden. Our theme was a ‘Mexican Fiesta’ and we wanted a lot of colour throughout the day. As we’re both musicians we made sure music was our top priority, from our 15-piece choir and trio made up of dear friends in the ceremony, to the 9-piece African band in the evening.
As a Lucy Says I Do employee I’m so lucky to have been able to work closely with Lucy to create all our wonderful bespoke stationery based on Mexican fiesta colours featuring beautiful florals, a custom Henley map and gorgeous colourful birds in a vibrant palette of blue, orange, pink, yellow and green.
We created all of the décor ourselves including miles and miles of bunting (thanks mum!). We had piñata favours, a musical table plan, mojitos, a cake table bursting at the seams with delicious cakes and a bright red Taco Truck which served our wedding breakfast to all our hungry guests. My groom Dave even re-wrote me a barbershop song called K-K-K-Katy and performed it accapella with my band mates in his speech.
My dress was from Grace Love Lace who are based in Australia. I took a huge risk ordering it online as I never got to try it on before taking the plunge and buying it but it really paid off as I truly loved it. It had silver sequin sleeves and a lace top with a tulle skirt and was so comfortable throughout the whole day.
It was truly the most amazing day completely, uniquely tailored to us as a couple and one we will never ever forget.”
The lovely Annabel from Love my Dress shared their wedding earlier in the year, which you can see here.
Here are some of our favourite images from the day.
