A couple of weeks ago I threw a special little dinner party as a big thank you. The guests, (some of my very favourite people) are all massive foodies, and so in order to create an air of excitement before the event we decided to adopt the theme of ‘Moroccan feast’! The Moroccan theme enabled me to play with really vibrant colours and wonderful flavours which I really enjoyed. Here are some pictures of the evening before we’d drunk too many cocktails and spilt food all over the table. All the special foodies got menus, complete with Moroccan detail to make sure everyone’s mouth was watering before they sat down. In addition I supplied the recipes for all the dishes that I made in a little material bag as a keepsake (all of which were very well received).
The dishes all worked out really well and were great for sharing. They would be great options for wedding food if you were looking for something a bit different that was informal and got people talking, but was really tasty at the same time.
If you would like to recreate the Moroccan feast, I have attached the menu and recipes below which you can download and print:
Moroccan Feast Menu here
Chickpea Flatbreads with Feta Moutabal Caviar (taken from a Leith’s recipe) here
Baked ricotta with coriander & pomegranate molasses (taken from a Leith’s recipe) here
Grilled Quail with pomegranate marinade (taken from a Leith’s recipe) here
Mint Tabbouleh with Labneh (taken from a Delicious Magazine recipe) here
Lamb and mint meatball tagine with Chermoula (taken from a Delicious Magazine recipe) here
Pistachio Cake (taken from a Leith’s recipe) here
Not usually a fan of carnations, I was won over by their exquisite colouring, which was perfect for the Moroccan theme.
