Andalucían Retreat

Are you looking for a really special honeymoon or holiday? If you are in need of a bit of secluded luxury, where you are guarenteed fabulous food and wine in glorious suroundings, then look no further. Casa la Siesta is a seven bedroomed hacienda, set in the Andalucian hills and only 10 minutes from the Atlantic beaches of Costa de Luz (the best in Spain in my opinion). It is run by a British couple, the wonderful Amelia and Lee who met and fell in love in Spain. Oh and did I mention it was voted one of the top 100 hotels in the world by Tatler. A number of the rooms have incredible free standing baths, just add a few of the wonderful REN products provided in the rooms, and you have the ultimate relation experience.

Best fruit salad I’ve ever had, and it came from the kitchen garden, decorated with beautiful edible flowers.

Much of the food served is grown in the hotel’s kitchen garden and the large choice of wine comes from a number of Spain’s small independent producers. All the food that we had the pleasure of tasting during our stay was wonderful, fresh and beautifully presented. Breakfast was a particular favourite, as well the late night snack they kindly prepared for us when we arrived.Casa la Siesta swimming pool, perfect for cooling off on those scorching summer days.

The rooms have beautiful decorative tiled floors, and wooden shutters and doors, books are left in your room in case you’ve forgotten your own, and REN products line the bathrooms.

Casa la Siesta provides the perfect environment if you are in search of serious rest and relaxation, however if you’re not the sort of person who is content lazing the day away, there’s plenty for you to do too. The hotel offers activities such as yoga, horse-riding and spanish language lessons. Just 10 minutes away is the beautiful white hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera where you can spend time meandering the cobbled streets, or if you’re in the mood for some city culture, the hotel is just 50 minutes from Jerez and 90 minutes from Seville.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here and cannot recommend this little enclave of peace and tranquility highly enough, Casa la Siesta will always have a special place in our hearts, and we hope to return one day.
